As of April 1, 2021, at the University of Hildesheim (Germany) a postdoctoral position (research assistant, TV-L E 13, 100%) is to be filled for a period of two years in the Research Training Group “Aesthetic Practice” (Faculty of Cultural Studies and Aesthetic Communication).

The group is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG-Graduiertenkolleg 2477). It offers a structured research training program for German and international (post-)graduates. The group investigates aesthetic practice as a sui generis phenomenon, expanding the scope of traditional philosophical aesthetics and art studies by means of practice theory. At the center of attention are forms of aesthetic production and performance, such as writing procedures, rehearsal methods, and forms of practicing and improvising, that can – but do not have to – culminate in finished works of art.

The postdoctoral researcher conducts a research project within this framework and takes an active part in the design, development and management of the research program.
